(Studio Benati Architettura - Vinitaly Fair) and as designer for Italian brands
(Cattelan Italia, Noir, Arketipo), in November 2010 he decided to found

DII - Design International Institute in Bangkok.

What do you think about interior trend in 2012?
A "spaces's observer" suggested me three words: Craft,Green,Personalized.
Modern craft and green products will be the new luxury in partnership with new modern raw materials ( Eco Synthesis Materials); furniture and products will be minimal but they'll maximize their function and people will be not stick in trend but they'll create their own style.

What is your passion or inspiration when you work? How do you find it and how can you turn your inspiration to final work?
I love traveling, meeting and comparing different cultures.
I love to observe, research and understand details.
I'm fascinated by cinema, literature, photography and design in general.
I'm attracted by challenges and I deeply believe in the power of words and shapes as a means of communication and creativity.
Sometimes I look out of the window.

"251 Stool" has been published on different italian websites of design and on Surface Asia Magazines' website. How did the idea come from?
We were inspired by the folding techniques of origami to create a light, weather-resistant chair with durability and flexibility in mind. The stool is constructed out of a single sheet of 3mm aluminum, using methods of laser-cutting and calendaring assembled without welding or screws, giving it a clean silhouette.

Why are you interested in teaching interior in Thailand?
I've never thought to become a Lecturer, but most of the times things just happen.
The chance came one day and I decided to try: it's very rewarding seeing students learn, seeing them "get it". It's a great privilege to share ideas with other people discovering different points of view or discussing on different experiences: it's a great trust. At least I think that the best thing is try to help them to become more of what they are meant to be with my tiny experience as designer.

What is the mission for your Studio?
Fandesignstudio is not about words. It's about dreams and unconventional,
multicultural, globally-minded design.
Our mission is focus on research and unconventional thinking: through these topics we develop new ideas in the form of interiors, spatial concepts, furniture, lighting, industrial products and jewelry design.
Our approach to design is articulated through the link between space and person and we deeply believe in the power of shapes as a means of emotions.

What are you working on now?
We are working on differents projects: a table lamp, a wall clock and an apartment
makeover with a tight budget.

Can you say something for anyone who are interested in interior and wanna work in this field?
To be a designer is not just to think in one way: it's an opportunity to think and design everything you want, every day.
To be a designer it's to think out of the boxes: it's the power to transform emotions into
shapes, it's a way to to use your imagination to create something different, to create a product or an interior.
So...When you are looking for a solution, think about it deeply. Then forget it.
And an idea will jump up in your face.
